Keeping your firing pins compressed for long periods risks damaging their springs, which is important to avoid. Dry firing is also harmful and your firing pins are not designed for that. But what does one do in this case? The snap cap is the answer to this problem.
The dummy primer is made from brass just like a real primer to avoid ruining the head of your firing pins. To ensure a good longevity of the snap cap, the primer is placed on a spring system to cushion the impact of the firing pin and thus maintain them.
Insert the snap caps as you would normally when loading your gun. Close your gun, point the muzzle towards a safe area (maintain safe practices), fire the two firing pins. They are now released and can be stored for a long period without risk.
