Hemp is a natural fibre renowned for its strength, durability and comfort. It requires little water and little fertiliser to grow. Of course, the main advantages of hemp are that it is both strong and lightweight, that it absorbs moisture and therefore perspiration in hot weather, and that it is antibacterial.
Used on its own, hemp would not be very comfortable or supple. To give you an idea, it would feel more like a hessian sack. The trick of combining cotton fibres with hemp fibres gives you the benefits of both components to create a shirt that’s hard-wearing, comfortable and lightweight.
