Protection from the wind is critical, as wind can chill the body significantly whether you are active or at rest. According to the windchill model, which measures how the air temperature feels when factoring in the wind and cold: at a temperature of 5°C combined with winds of 30 km/h, the temperature felt will be 0°C. If the air temperature is 0°C and wind speed is 30 km/h, the temperature felt will be -6°C. The materials used in our products help to counter the windchill effect.
The collar is 6 cm high on a size L, protecting your neck from the wind and the cold. The drawstring inserted into the bottom of the jacket is invisible and allows you to tighten the product around your waist to stop the wind blowing in. You can tighten or loosen this on the right side of the jacket. The zip on the pockets helps you to open the pockets quickly and easily. The 3 outer pockets can be closed with a zip, the 2 inside pockets cannot be closed

During the test, your technical garment’s component is exposed to a temperature close to body temperature and a controlled outside temperature. The clo index reflects the ability of your 500 men’s softshell to retain your body heat inside the garment. The greater the clo index, the better the technical fabric will retain your body heat.
Your 500 men’s softshell is made water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment causes water to slide over the surface of the fabric without soaking in. This prevents the component from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight. This treatment must be renewed several times throughout the product’s lifetime.
