At Decathlon, we believe in the quality and durability of our products. To ensure you are completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer a minimum 2-year warranty on all our products (unless otherwise specified).
You can learn more about how our warranty process works and which cases are covered or excluded by reading the details below:
1. Cases Covered by Warranty (Valid Scenarios)
Manufacturing and material defects that occur under normal and intended use of the product are fully covered under warranty:
-
Stitching and Material Defects: Stitching splits, torn straps, or broken/damaged zippers and buttons on clothing, footwear, and bags during normal use.
-
Tents and Camping Equipment: Water leakage caused by manufacturing defects, or pole/frame breakage during normal, proper setup.
-
Metal and Mechanical Parts:
-
Bicycles: Our bicycle frames, handlebars, and stems come with a lifetime warranty. Other mechanical parts are covered by a 2-year warranty.
-
Fitness Equipment: The metal frames of treadmills, elliptical trainers, and other exercise machines are covered against manufacturing defects.
2. Cases Not Covered by Warranty (Excluded Scenarios)
Damage caused by user error, natural wear and tear, or external factors is not covered under warranty:
-
Natural Wear and Tear: Shoe soles wearing out over time, thinning of fabrics due to friction, or natural fading of colors.
-
Improper Care and Washing: Failure to follow the washing and care instructions on the product’s inner label (e.g., washing a technical membrane jacket with fabric softener, which destroys its waterproof properties).
-
User Errors and Accidents: Bicycle crashes, clothing or footwear tearing after snagging on sharp objects, or tent damage caused by severe storms/extreme winds.
-
Modifying the Product: Unauthorized cutting, sewing, painting, or any other structural modifications made to the product.
-
Punctures and Tears: Punctures or tears in inflatable mattresses, pools, swim armbands, and similar inflatable products are generally considered the result of external impact and are excluded from the warranty.
3. How to Claim Your Warranty
-
Proof of Purchase: To benefit from our warranty service, you must present the cash receipt (invoice) or the Decathlon Account (Loyalty Card) under which the purchase was registered.
-
The Advantage of a Decathlon Account: If you scan your Decathlon profile during purchase, your transaction is saved digitally. Even if you lose your physical paper receipt, we can easily locate your purchase in the system to start the warranty process.
Note: If you experience a warranty-related issue, please bring your product along with your proof of purchase (receipt) to the cash desk at your nearest Decathlon store. Our specialists will inspect the product and decide on the best solution, which may include repair, replacement, or a refund.
