The shape of the Tubik ABS naturally allows the rope to be clamped between the device and a carabiner to help arrest a fall or control the speed of the climber's descent.

A good compromise between reinforced braking and fluidity in belaying.
For 8.9 mm to 11 mm ropes.
Compact and light: 97 grams.
Description
Our designers and engineers designed this belay system to be very easy to use. However, belay systems with "brake assist" require a little getting used to before they can be used properly. Before use, we recommend that you: 1/read the user guide; 2/watch the explanatory videos/tutorials; 3/practise using it in a safe place, where you can fall (very low fall height, onto a mat).
This belay system makes it easy to brake a fall because it pivots upwards and pinches the rope. It can be easily released by tilting the brake upwards with your thumb or the palm of your hand (see user guide). This belay system is therefore more advanced and safer than a conventional tube. Please note: always keep a hand on the rope because this belay system does not block the rope. We recommend that you read the instructions carefully before any use.
To assist braking, only a type H or HMS safety carabiner should be used. With a type B carabiner, the "brake assist" function will not work properly. We recommend using the Simond Goliath screwgate carabiner, Secure & BLC. (Model code 8608353). For the same reason, do not use this belay system with a rope diameter < 8.9 mm or the "brake assistance" function will not work properly.
If the device is dirty, clean it with fresh water and dry it away from a heat source. Do not use chemicals. For more details, refer to the instructions for use.
Store the system in a dry, cool and ventilated place, away from UV and chemicals. For more details, refer to the instructions for use.
This belay system was designed and manufactured in France, at our Simond factory in Chamonix.
