Description
The Neo Racer Aluminium Frame (NCR AF) is the first sports bike in our range. It excels in the versatility demanded by novice road cyclists.It's perfectly suited to outings on the plains or in the mountains. Its large frame clearance means it can even be fitted with 38 mm tyres for use on rolling trails. This is a bike with a sporty geometry. The hydraulic disc brakes are there to ensure your safety.
The frame is made from 'double butted' 6061 aluminium, which means that the aluminium is manufactured in 2 different thicknesses along the length of the tubes. The aim is to reduce weight while ensuring a strong, rigid frame. The welds are polished for an undeniable aesthetic effect. The fork is made from carbon for more precise handling and reduced weight.
The NCR AF is equipped with a 31.8mm diameter 6061 T6 aluminium handlebar.4° backsweep 130mm drop Handlebar width: XS - S: 400 mm M - L - XL: 420 mm Aluminium stem 6061 T6 7º/-7º Stem length: XS 70 mm S 80 mm M 90 mm L 100 mm XL 110 mm
The NCR AF Tiagra comes with the full Shimano Tiagra (4700) groupset. The total weight of the groupset with disc brakes is 3350 g. This groupset gives you precise, reliable gear changes. It also comes with hydraulic disc brakes. The handles are thin and compact, with the ergonomics optimised so that you can easily reach the levers. (R4720 shifters) It comes with all of Shimano's latest-generation groupset technology.
This bike comes with a Shimano Tiagra (FC 4700) 48/34 double chainring. The 48T ring gives you a higher cadence and lets you stay in the middle of the cassette for longer. 10-speed cassette (CS-HG500-10) with the following increments: 11-12-14-16-18-20-22-25-28-32 If you want to change the cassette, the derailleur can take up to 34t. (RD 4700 GS) Chain: KMC TWX10 Crank length according to size: XXS / XS: 165 mm S: 170 mm M: 172.5 mm L/XL: 175 mm
Please note that it is important to regularly service your drive train, especially if you ride in difficult conditions (wet and/or dirty roads). Regular maintenance will help your drive train to last for longer. Regular chain checks are essential, using a wear tester available from Decathlon (item code: 8351086).
When buying a bike, it's important to take into account the cost of servicing it, especially as regards the drive train. The amounts below are averages and are given so that you have a general idea of what to expect. They will of course vary depending on the care you take of your drive train. The average lifespan of a well-maintained chain is 5000 km. The average lifespan of a cassette is 10,000-12,000 km. A poorly maintained chain can jump, which can damage your bike's frame.
Shimano Tiagra disc brakes with 160 mm rotors at the front and back. The Shimano Tiagra brakes are hydraulic. This gives you progressive, more powerful braking than with cable-actuated brakes. You will need to bed these brakes in. Simply brake gradually 20 times at a low speed (20 km/h), then repeat at 30 km/h. Make sure to bed in both brakes. Bedding in creates more friction between the disc and brake pad.
Hydraulic brakes function using a closed circuit between your brake lever and your caliper. There is a hose to maintain the seal. With time, you'll see a normal loss of pressure in your hoses, leading to a loss of braking efficiency. When your brake guard is too soft, or you stop short against your handlebar, you need to bleed your system. This requires specific tools and knowledge.
Please note: never squeeze the brakes without a wheel being attached, as you could get the brake pads stuck together. If the rotor is touching the pads, here's how to realign the wheel and caliper: - Loosen the wheel axle - Brake hard and tighten the axle at the same time - If the rotor is still touching the brakes, do the same thing and loosen the caliper - If you're unable to resolve the issue, please visit one of our workshops.

Of course, you should always carry an inner tube in your repair kit, just in case your tyre gets a slightly bigger puncture.
