Description
We have chosen a light, breathable and stretchy material to suit more athletic sailing and sailing in warmer weather. The lightweight shell jacket has also been tried and tested in leisure sailing and kayaking, and weighs just 572 grams in size L.
In addition to the fabric, the product has been designed to protect against heavy splashing: - No zip to stay waterproof under all circumstances. - Very comfortable, stretch neoprene cuffs. - Stretch neoprene collar for maximum comfort. - Adjustable neoprene waistband. - The seams are 100% taped
Several collars (thickness, type of neoprene, shape, height) were tested in the Tribord Sailing Lab’s rain room to choose the component and shape offering the best performance. Why choose neoprene over latex? Numerous tests have shown that neoprene performs just as well as Latex.
The product sizing is generously cut. It is designed to be worn with a thermal underlayer and a midlayer. For men, choose your usual size. Women should choose one size smaller than their usual size
The Tribord Offshore PRO set has been developed and tested with Yannick Bestaven and our pro skipper partners. It meets all their needs during their races, whether they're inshore or offshore, transatlantic, solo or with a team, and on different boats: Yannick BESTAVEN (IMOCA), Quentin VLAMYNCK (Ocean 50 and Figaro 3), Achille NEBOUT (Class 40), Keni PIPEROL (Class 40), Romain LE GALL (Figaro 3), Sasha LANIECE and Léo BOTHOREL (Mini 6.50).
The fabric, developed by our DECATHLON laboratory, is constructed with a 3-layer membrane, resistant to a water pressure of 20,000 mm Schmerbers (JIS standard). The higher the water pressure withstood by the fabric, the more waterproof it is. The product has been tested using a rainstorm simulator, reproducing rainfall of 450 L/m²/h over 4 hours and on multiple races with our pro skipper partners.
After use, rinse the jacket thoroughly with clean water to remove any salt. Machine wash about once a year to prevent the rip-tabs from damaging the fabric during washing. Dry in a well-ventilated place. Caution: never dry your shell jacket directly on a radiator. If the water repellency is less effective, you can occasionally tumble dry it at low temperature for 10 minutes to reactivate the water repellency.
The fabric is stretchy and lightweight for a waterproof shell jacket. Its lightness makes it more susceptible to rubbing and snags. We encourage you to take good care of it and avoid excessive rubbing or contact with abrasive materials that could damage the fabric.
