Regulation (EU) 2016/425 applies to personal protection. This back protector is notable in particular for its tests on shock absorption capacity with impact tests according to standard EN1621-2 level 1.
To choose the correct protective vest size, here is a size table that uses children's height (the chest measurement is given as a reference): Size 6 years = 115-124cm (Chest 58-61cm) Size 8 years = 124-133cm (Chest 61-64.5cm) Size 10 years = 133 to 142cm (Chest 64.5-68.5cm) Size 12 years = 142-151cm (Chest 68.5-75.5cm) Size 14 years = 152 to 162 cm (Chest 75.5-85.5cm)
The back protector is designed to go with the protective shorts that will be available shortly, as well as the rest of the outfit. It has practical ties to attach the back protection to the belt loops of the shorts or trousers so that it does not ride up as the child moves.
Remember not to leave your back protector in the car at night or in a cold environment before wearing it. Indeed, the protective component reacts to cold and hardens if left in such conditions for a prolonged period. Body heat or a heated room is enough to make it flexible again.
