We have tested the dexterity of these gloves by evaluating how easy it is to put on a jacket, to handle bivouacking objects and walking poles, to have a drink and to eat something. For better dexterity, these gloves are pre-curved with a double-seamed fourchette to adapt to the natural shape of each finger.
These gloves do not have a waterproof membrane to allow better breathability during intense exercise. However, these gloves are water-repellent. They allow water to run off the surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. These gloves were designed to fit with trekking waterproof over-gloves in case of rain.
All our gloves are laboratory tested on a thermal hand. The minimum temperatures for use (recommended and limit) are the result of a study carried out with a test panel of 23 walkers exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and 10 km/h winds. These temperatures are only valid in walking conditions. These gloves are given a rating from 1 to 5 for their warmth. For these gloves: - Recommended temperature: 4°C Temperature limit: -1°C.
To avoid heat loss through the extremities, it is important to be well equipped. As far as the hands are concerned, the three-layer technique enables you to adapt to weather conditions and the intensity of your effort. The three layers are: - Merino wool or silk inner gloves -Warm mid-layer gloves -Third layer waterproof over-gloves
