How did we test efficiency in preventing mosquito bites? We tested the efficiency of this hat in a specialised laboratory. 60 female mosquitoes of 3 different species (Aedes, Culex and Anopheles) were placed in a sealed room (yes! only female mosquitoes bite). Score: the component stops 95% of mosquito bites. Comprehensive report on request.
The World Heath Organisation recommends at least 25 holes per cm² to stop mosquitoes effectively. With 40 holes per sqcm, the mosquito net used on this hat won't let any through. This net is untreated.
Just make an "eight" with the edge of your hat and then fold it in half. And... there you go! Place it in its specially-designed bag. This tip will enable you to carry your hat in your rucksack or suitcase without damaging it.
If you are visiting an area with a high level of mosquitoes, we recommend you also use anti-mosquito spray, essential oil-based with lemon eucalyptus or even icaridin. In fact, in some countries mosquitoes can be carriers of serious diseases such as chikungunya, dengue fever and even malaria.
