When we are in the water, we lose more than half of our body heat through our extremities (feet, hands, head). Consequently, here are the recommended accessories: - in water (>17°C) => low neoprene shoes. - in water (12 - 17°C): High foot pockets and hood. - in water (7 - 12°C): High foot pockets, gloves, hood and hooded top.
The first selection criterion when choosing a surf foot pocket is the temperature of the water in which the rider surfs. Water temperature varies according to the location and the time of the year. Systematically make sure that the water temperature at your spot corresponds to the recommended temperature range: Water warmer than 21°C. Water between 17°C and 22°C. Water between 12°C and 17°C. Water between 7°C and 12°C. Visit the site seatemperature.org to find out the temperature of your spot.
Surfing foot pockets must be a very tight fit for optimal efficiency. It is perfectly normal for it to feel like they are too tight when tried on dry. Choosing tight foot pockets guarantees a better fit and prevents them from swelling with water when surfing.
The 3 mm surf foot pockets are made of 85% natural rubber (Yulex) for improved comfort when surfing. The component is lined with a synthetic fabric for increased resistance to wear. Thickness of the foot pocket: 3 mm. We test and guarantee the quality of our natural rubber materials.
The seams are stitched and glued for optimal waterproofing. The seams are blind-stitched. the thread does not go all the way through the neoprene, preventing water from getting through. The absence of threads on the inside avoids irritation and chafing. Comfort and reinforcement patches are strategically placed on the inside in sensitive areas.
Rinse and then roll the top part downwards. Then hang them inside out so that the air can circulate. If the smell is too strong, you can put baking soda (1 teaspoon) directly into the foot pockets before rinsing them.
Based in Hendaye in South-West France, in our offices at the water’s edge, we can design a range of accessories and then on the same day go surfing and test them.
